Prospective areas of professional development of university teachers: an expert analysis

Introduction. Modern educational environment demands that those working in higher education sphere should hone their professional skills throughout careers. In the conditions of rapidly developing technology, traditional teaching practices oftentimes become obsolete and role further development a teacher’s cannot be overestimated. The aim our research is to identify areas teachers would like follow. Methodology methods: survey we conducted covered 51 university teachers, latter describing intentions this respect demonstrating variety opinions. By interpreting data obtained through quantitative method, followed by method expert evaluation, identified ways profession are most rel-evant for today's education. results research: majority participants emphasized particular importance IT skills, while many pointed significance honing knowledge English language. Also, intention develop communication leadership was ex-pressed. addition this, pedagogical mentioned among possible directions development. A number necessity having more profound psychological social characteristics learners. small felt there no need skills. study can successfully used when determining contents courses which contribute better efficacy such courses.
